ALPHA EPSILON DELTA
Alpha
Epsilon Delta is a National Health Pre-Professional Honor
Society dedicated to recognizing and encouraging those
committed to healthcare. The organization was founded in
1926 at the University of Alabama with a dual purpose, Honor
Society and service organization. The NJ-Beta Chapter of
AED was established in 1992 at Stevens Institute of
Technology and strives to organize events in terms of
philanthropy, scholarship, and social causes with the goal
of promoting the importance of healthcare on campus and
throughout the Hoboken community. 190 Stevens students have
been inducted to date. AED has encouraged students by
organizing an information session with alumni who are
currently in medical and dental schools, planning visits to
UMDNJ, and holding MCAT review courses on campus. The
members of AED also organized a toy drive in which all of
the toys were donated to the children in the outpatient
clinic at Hoboken University Medical Center, as well as a
book drive through Better World Books to promote global
literacy.
