Mission Statement The mission of the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is to provide services and programs to international students and scholars to assist them in achieving their personal, professional and academic goals. We pursue this mission in the following ways:
Message from President Raveche Stevens Institute of Technology is proud to join with educational institutions and others across the country as we observe International Education Week, November 14-18. Stevens students, scholars, faculty and staff come from nearly 100 countries, and our institutional and personal links abroad continue to expand in China, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, India, Germany, Australia, the UK and other countries. Every day demonstrates the growing impact on science, technology and the economy of globalization amidst great diversity. Mutual understanding and appreciation of the cultural values of societies around the world, and their hopes and aspirations, are crucial to peace, security and economic growth throughout the world. Our international students, faculty and researchers, as well as those participating in study abroad, collaborative research, and other activities overseas are making significant contributions to the fulfillment of these objectives. They highlight the diversity of the Stevens community, and this year, we will celebrate the richness of that diversity in a variety of ways during International Education Week, including the creation of a “Cultural Collage” to which the entire Stevens community is encouraged to contribute. (Dates and locations for the "Collage" will be posted in upcoming International Education Week announcements.) I encourage everyone to take part in these events and to take advantage of the many opportunities personal and institutional growth that Stevens’ international connections and activities present to us throughout the year. |
