The History of the Sigma Chapter

our house
Our chapter has a long history. Originally founded as a chapter
of Alpha Sigma Chi, we became part of Beta in 1879, when Alpha Sigma
Chi merged with Beta Theta Pi. Our chapter was originally designated
the Beta Epsilon chapter, but the original Sigma had become inactive,
so William Raimond Baird (Stevens 1878) decided to make our chapter
the Sigma instead.
Our house, located at 812 Castle Point Terrace, Hoboken, New Jersey
has a history in itself. It was the previous home to Hoboken's
Mayor, and is supposedly haunted.
